The 2023/24 Victorian State Series is officially underway, with the final race of the Victorian Duathlon Series wrapped on Sunday.
For a typically wintery August day, the sun lit up the course providing dry surfaces and energetic spirits. These pleasant racing conditions encouraged a buzzing atmosphere and outstanding performances at Caribbean Gardens.
In the Sprint event, Calvin Amos was first across the line, winning the Victorian Duathlon Series in the Male 25-29 category. Thomas Page was second across the line, while Tristan Price won the Male 15-19 category, rounding the top 3 fastest athletes on the day.
Penelope Nevill was the first female to cross the line, winning the Victorian Duathlon Series title, owning the Female 35-39 category. Suzanne Blackborrow and Carly Burmeister came a close second and third respectively, only seconds apart.
The 2023/24 State Series continues with the Cross Duathlon Championship in regional Victoria on 24 September.
