The penultimate race of the series saw some minor changes, but there was no shift in the energy and enthusiasm of the Victorian community.
Leading the charge up the Bologna Hill was i4 Coaching’s Harry Young doing his best Leonardo (Catch Me If You Can) DiCaprio impression after a measured start on the flat. Once he took the lead, there was no looking back as he stretched his legs away from fellow i4 Coaching athlete Mitch Kibby.
It was a dominant morning for i4 Coaching all round with their athletes picking up bonus points in all categories as they set a determined path towards the ultimate prize of being crowned Club Race Series Champions for 21-22.
From regulars such as Sophie Perry and Nicole Tziavaras to new debutant Dirk Heinert and everyone in between, each picked up bonus points and helped their club to a commanding position before next week’s grand finale.
Around the rest of the course, tactics and strategy were key. Sammy Jannsen and her Momentum Endurance team moved back into the runner’s up spot, while TriSpecify jumped ahead of 2020 champions Melbourne Triathlon Club for the final podium position.
Hot on everyone’s heels, and still well within reach of grabbing some slabs of Zero+ Sports Beer are Ringwood Triathlon Club and Complete Per4mance Coaching, with the duo setting up a thrilling end to the competition; as we say Allez, Allez, Allez in Paris!
