The Victorian Government lifted lockdown restrictions from 11:59pm on Tuesday 27 July. However, we all need to remain vigilant to stay on top of the highly infectious Delta variant and COVIDSafe behaviours are crucial.
- Make sure everyone checks in everywhere, every time
- Wear your mask correctly – covering your mouth and nose
- Get tested if you are ill

Here is a high-level summary:
Overview of restrictions across Victoria from 11.59pm on Tuesday 27 July
- Victorians will be able to leave their homes for any reason.
- Masks will continue to be required indoors and outdoors (except at home) unless an exception applies.
- Physical recreation facilities, including gyms, will all open with density requirements of 1 person per 4sqm.
The restrictions as they apply to physical recreation & sport, including swimming pools are as follows:
Physical Recreation Facilities:
- Open. Maximum patron cap of 100 people per space indoors and 300 per space outdoors
- Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm.
- COVID Check-in Marshals must ensure attendees check-in
- Group limit of 10 people
Community Sport:
- Open for all ages, training, and competition.
- Limited to minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (i.e. players, coaches). The group limit does not apply.
- Maximum patron cap of 100 people per space indoors and 300 per space outdoors
- Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies in both indoor and outdoor settings
- COVID Check-in Marshals must ensure attendees check-in
- Group limit of 10 people does not apply to community sport
Spectators are not allowed (excludes people necessary for events such as teachers, instructors, trainers, coaches, umpires, carers, parents and guardians).
