Triathlon Victoria’s TRI2gether program continues to go from strength to strength, with Chairo Christian College completing their in-school triathlon race at Cardinia Life this week.
Led by TRI2gether Ambassador John Winterburn, the early start couldn’t wipe smiles from faces as 27 students took to the starting line for a 400m swim, a 5km ride and a 2km run.
Enthusiastically supported by the Chairo PE team as course marshals with several parents also attending to offer support and encouragement; every student finished and achieved the satisfaction of completing the event.
This has been the first time Chairo has offered TRI2gether at their school, after contacting Triathlon Victoria seeking guidance on introducing triathlon into the school as a new opportunity for students.
The program was delivered across term one, with a swim at Cardinia Life, while the cycling and running was held on Chairo grounds each week and delivered by John.
Congratulations to all at Chairo Christian school, particularly the participating students, for such a successful delivery of TRI2gether.
