Triathlon Victoria is delighted to welcome three new board members to the association.
Scott Thompson, Mark Warburton and Deborah Friedlander were all elected at this week’s Annual General Meeting. The trio will replace outgoing board members John Morton, Lawrence West and Davina Calhaem.
Scott Thompson
Scott is a former professional cricketer, passionate triathlete and 10-time IRONMAN finisher. With a distinguished corporate career, Scott is the current CEO of Lexus Australia and spent 16 years with the Toyota Motor Corporation in various executive roles including the Head of National Sales, Chief Marketing Officer, General Manager Marketing Toyota USA. This work has seen Scott working alongside several sporting organisations such as the International Olympic Committee, the Australian Football League, the National Rugby League, Cricket Australia and IRONMAN Oceania. Scott is keen to use his corporate experience to assist and support Triathlon Victoria.
Mark Warburton
A familiar name in the Victorian triathlon community, Mark is the President of the Hawthorn Triathlon Club and has been part of Triathlon Victoria’s Governance and Finance Committee. With experience in leadership as a company CEO, Mark has experience in providing strategic direction, managing Human Resources and overseeing finance, sales and marketing in the corporate world. A keen triathlete, Mark has raced in Sprint, Olympic and half IRONMAN domestically and has represented Australia overseas. He is also a Triathlon Victoria Technical Official.
Deborah Friedlander
Deborah has spent several years working as a managing director for Caterpillar Financial Australia Limited and has experience working across finance, law, risk, governance, employee engagement, strategy, and marketing. Earlier this year Deborah resigned from full-time executive work to focus on family and further study. Deborah’s racing experience includes the Noosa Tri, 2XU Race Series and various corporate triathlons.
