The Maryborough and District Triathlon Club is a small but dynamic sporting club that continues to provide opportunities for the local and regional community to experience and enjoy the sport of triathlon, something that it has been doing for nearly 20 years.
In an initiative that was supported by Triathlon Victoria, the club embarked on the planning and hosting of a junior participation event, the 2020 MDTC Kidz Triathlon, for up-and-coming triathletes.
Local and regional participants turned out to take on the Princes Park course and there was an ocean of smiles as the young triathletes crossed the finish line and received their Triathlon Victoria Finishing Medallion.
The club now plans to include this event on an annual basis as it strives to provide the opportunity for novice triathletes to experience the sport of triathlon and promote physical activity through swimming, riding, and running.
