The Victorian State Governments Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package has been extended, with clubs now having until June 30, 2020. to submit their grant application.
Community sporting clubs and associations can make a pitch for a share of more than $100 million in Victorian Government grants to support grassroots players and volunteers.
The Latrobe Valley Triathlon Club and the Maryborough and District Triathlon Club have both been successful in received funding under the grant.
“The Victorian State Governments Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package has provided our club with a much-need funding resource to help cover some of our annual costs while we are unable to fundraise or host events,” said Andrew Legge, President of the Latrobe Valley Triathlon Club.
“The application process was extremely user friendly and easy to navigate. The turnaround time for a successful notification was super quick. This was probably the easiest and most stress-free funding application and process I have been involved with.”
Matt Bartlett, Vice President of Maryborough and District Triathlon Club, echoed Legge’s sentiments.
“The Maryborough and District Triathlon Club is very pleased to receive funding support through the Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package,”
“COVID19 has created many challenges for our club, and the road to recovery will still present more challenges. The club is very grateful to Triathlon Victoria for its on-going guidance and support.”
The $40 million community club and association program is a key component of the Government’s Experience Economy Survival Package and will help associations, leagues and clubs maintain their viability and connection to their communities, assist the return to training and play, and support members.
Eligible organisations will be able to apply for funding in four categories, with grants available for amounts:
- Up to $350,000 for large state sporting associations
- Up to $200,000 for smaller state sporting associations, regional sports assemblies and academies, and other state sport and recreational bodies
- Up to $15,000 for associations and leagues
- Up to $1,000 for individual clubs.
