This week, Premier Daniel Andrews announced changes to stage three of the state’s restrictions on non-essential activities to help manage the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) adding a fifth reason to leave home – visiting friends and family. Aligning with the outcomes of National Cabinet other changes (new arrangements) come into effect at 11.59 pm on Tuesday 12 May.
For the sport and recreation sector outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people are now permitted – subject to physical distancing to help keep people safe. For us that means members can now participate in outdoor training, but this must be non-contact, with only ten people participating at any one time in addition to those people running the training (e.g. coach).
The social distancing rule of 1 person for every 4 square metres of space and appropriate hygiene measures must continue to be observed to help keep people safe. Always use your judgement, and think about your health and that of the broader community at all times. Public swimming pools and ocean baths remain closed; however, you may continue to swim at the beach.

The Premier continued the familiar message “… if you can stay at home, you must stay at home” so please consider this in your return to training plans.
