Schools and students have the opportunity to enter this year’s Victorian Schools Triathlon Championships, which will be run as part of Race 5 of the 2XU Triathlon Series on Sunday 15 March at Green Point Brighton.
The championships offer juniors a unique challenge and introduce them to a lifestyle sport that builds resilience, improves confidence and keeps the focus on finish lines, not finish times. Junior athletes are able to participate as an individual or as a team. Athletes with a disability are also encouraged to enter the multi-class category.
Individual athletes complete a full triathlon over the distance determined by their age or school year. For teams, each member completes either the swim, the bike or the run. A step-by-step guide can be found in the event handbook for schools wishing to set up their school in the registration system.
Junior triathletes, who haven’t previously been a Triathlon Victoria member, can also access a discounted membership offer which is currently available. This removes the need for a One Day Licence to race.
