Nominations are open for two national officiating awards, the John Ison award and the Rob George award.
The John Ison award
The John Ison award is given for recognition of significant contribution to the technical side of triathlon in Australia and internationally.
CRITERIA
Recognition of significant contribution to the technical side of triathlon in Australia and internationally.
Key characteristics and achievements of nominees (similar to John Ison):
- Commitment over a long period of time
- Outstanding contribution to the technical side
- Leadership
- Depth of knowledge at domestic and international level
- Experience and roles held at all levels
Demonstration of key activities/achievements of nominee:
- Excelled in an area or role.
- Demonstrated service worthy of recognition
- Contributed towards the technical program and/or the sport of triathlon as a whole locally as well as nationally and/or internationally
- Has the nominee’s contribution been recognised elsewhere (e.g. media, other awards, etc.)
- Made a contribution over and above what might be reasonably expected through the normal course of being a technical official

The Rob George award
The Rob George award is given for recognition of the valuable contributions made to the Technical Program in their home state by individual Technical Officials.
CRITERIA
Recognition of the valuable contributions made to the Technical Program in their home state by individual Technical Officials.
Demonstration of key characteristics of the nominees (similar to Rob George):
- Well organised and dependable
- Fair
- Positivity and a team player
- Problem solver
- Empathy, guidance to others, mentoring skills
Demonstration of key activities of the nominees:
- Demonstrated a high personal commitment to the technical program at a local level
- Encouraged the growth of triathlon at grassroots level
- Provided mentoring and peer support to other Technical Officials
- Successfully collaborated with Race Directors and Clubs to improve the safety and quality of events in their state
