Triathlon Victoria has been named as a finalist for the Community Official of the Year at the upcoming 2019 Victorian Sport Awards.
Tony Ruddick has been nominated for the Gray-Nicolls Sports Community Official of the Year. The award recognises the exceptional contribution made by a Victorian official in 2019 with a particular focus on improving community sport through fairness, integrity and making sport more welcoming and inclusive.
As one of Triathlon Victoria’s leading Technical Officials, Ruddick demonstrates a high personal commitment to the sport at a local level and has officiated at more than 21 events over the past two years. Three of these were on the senior technical team during the 2018-19 season. Ruddick was awarded the Rob George Award earlier this year for his outstanding service to triathlon as a TO.
In addition to Ruddick’s nomination Triathlon Victoria’s Executive Director Grant Cosgriff is also a finalist for the SportsTG Sports Administrator of the Year – Eunice Gill Award. The award recognises Victorian sports administrators who have demonstrated an outstanding level of achievement during the 2019 year at the State Sporting Association, Regional Sports Assembly or (Victorian based) National Sporting Organisation.
The Victorian Sport Awards is the night of nights for the Victorian sporting community. In partnership with the Victorian State Government, the Awards recognises and celebrates the achievements of our homegrown sporting talent.
On Wednesday 26 February 2020 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne’s Docklands, the Victorian Sport Awards will once again honour those who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Victoria as individuals, teams, athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers from both metropolitan and regional areas in Victoria.
Tickets for the event will be avalaible in the coming weeks.
