Sometime in 2020 Triathlon Australia will be offering training to become an ITU accredited National Technical Official (otherwise known as an ITU Level 1 Official).
Triathlon Australia is seeking expressions of interest from currently accredited Triathlon Australia Technical Officials to undergo this training.
The training is available to officials who meet the following criteria:
- Accreditation as a technical official for at least 12 months as of 1/11/19
- Has officiated at least six sanctioned events as of 1/11/19
Once expressions of interest have been received, Triathlon Australia, in conjunction with the state organisations, will review the EOIs and issue invitations.
Officiating at an ITU event is a different experience to officiating at a typical TA sanctioned event. You are typically dealing with elite athletes, and there are specific procedures, formalities and protocols that an ITU official observes.
However, it’s also the best seat in the house with the potential to offer the most rewarding experience! We encourage you to take up this opportunity.
