Triathlon Victoria continues to put its support behind Play it Safe by the Water, the state-wide campaign aimed at promoting positive change around water safety.
As part of this initiative, we’re calling for affiliated clubs to register as a Champion Club and help drive the water safe message in your community.
In collaboration with the Victorian Government, Play it Safe by the Water aims to promote and encourage safety measures around water, through education and awareness activities to ensure the water safety is a priority for all ages, genders and cultures.
Triathlon Victoria has made water safety a key priority in recent years, communicating and supporting clubs around changing habits and mindsets. The Champion Club was formed as part of this direction.
Now entering its fourth year, the Champion Club program sees selected clubs named and promoted by Triathlon Victoria as leaders in water safety within the Victorian triathlon community.
Triathlon Victoria provides clubs with the support to deliver water safety messaging and best practices to club members and the wider community, to increase education about safety around water.
In 2018, 11 clubs made water safety their top as part of the Champion Club program and this summer we’d like to see more clubs take up the opportunity to promote the water safety message.
Play it Safe by the Water is a collaborative program between the Victorian Government and the aquatics and safety sectors, which includes support from Triathlon Victoria and Lifesaving Victoria.
