Victorian coaches, triathletes and runners alike will have the opportunity to soak up expertise from six exciting presenters at the 2019 Coaching Conference, with Triathlon Victoria announcing all six experts over the last fortnight.
Leading the charge is running coach Paul Mackinnon. Based in Melbourne and having a global reach from his numerous podcast appearances, Paul’s philosophy focuses on key cues and small changes to get you running faster. Through these cues, athletes are guided to ensure their whole body is in balance and alignment to increase forward propulsion and minimize excess movement.
Having coached athletes from Age Groupers all the way through to Olympians, Paul will be putting his expertise on show at the Conference as he conducts a live analysis session.
He’ll be joined by Up & Running Podiatry’s Matt & Gary, who will share their passion about educating athletes to move and feel better with Conference attendees.
As qualified sports podiatrists and keen triathletes, both Matt & Gary understand the challenges and concerns triathletes and their coaches can face when it comes to running and injury and look forward to dispelling some of the myths coaches might have when it comes to working with allied health professionals at the Conference.
Elitewellbeing’s Dr Krystine and Craig Mottram are also confirmed to present at the 2019 Conference. They’ll be sharing their informative and practical guide to creating optimal training environments which foster an athlete’s wellbeing.
Through their sessions, coaches will be empowered to appreciate elements associated with athlete wellbeing that can be utilised in their role as a sport facilitator as well as strategies to accommodate an array of athlete psychological needs, promote motivation, and encourage engagement, which are crucial to the pursuit of sporting endeavours and excellence.
Zwift’s Kevin Poulton rounds out the presenters for the 2019 Coaching Conference, with the Team Katusha Alpecin Head Coach set to share his knowledge on how coaches can implement successful indoor training using the latest technology.
As an experienced coach, coaching elite riders such as Caleb Ewan, Marcel Kittel, Mat Hayman and Mitch Docker, Kevin is at the forefront of implementing the latest technology and science-based training at the highest level.
With a strong focus on running and athlete-centric coaching, coaches and athletes alike are invited to attend the 2019 Coaching Conference.
