Momentum Endurance hit the water at Sandridge Beach last night, with perfect conditions for their run, swim, run session.
Momentum owner and head coach Michael Harvey has chosen to base the weekly open water swim at Sandridge in part due to its status as “no craft”; meaning swimmers can feel as safe as possible knowing they’ve got the calm waters to themselves. Michael also ensures he provides a clear and detailed brief at the start of the session, covering off on the course and the safety measures in place should participants need assistance at any stage.
The swim course follows a compact triangle shape, where participants enter the water, swim nearly parallel to the beach to first buoy, out to a second buoy and back to the start; meaning Michael is never far away as he runs the session from his Stand Up Paddleboard.
Triathlon Victoria supports Momentum Endurance and Michael through the Play It Safe By The Water Champion Club Program through providing extra lifesaving equipment and funding for community lifesaver accreditation.
